What is Employment Works for Autism?
The Surrey Choices’ Employment Works for Autism programme is designed to support autistic people to find or maintain paid work. The programme is delivered by Surrey Choices EmployAbility team who have over 25 years experience in supporting disabled people into work.
What is the aim of this programme?
This programme is designed to develop a person’s skills to enable them to contribute to their local communities by increasing their confidence to get involved either in paid work or volunteering.
What does the programme involve?
The programme helps develop social and other skills needed for work by providing a work experience placement with support on hand with a 1:1 mentor who will be provide support with:
- Career guidance
- Job seeking and job applications
- Interviews
- Job Coaching
- Access to Job Clubs
- On-going support once a job has been found
Programme Criteria
The project is open to any job seeker with an Autistic Spectrum condition, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or other Neurodiversity conditions. Whatever their age, ability or previous work experience, priority will be given to those who can demonstrate a commitment to finding work.
Applications will not be accepted from candidates already on other JobCentre plus supported work programmes. There are only 25 places available on this project which ends in March 2024.
