Students gain work experience in hospital

For several years, we have worked in partnership to develop The Employment Works Programme. This scheme provides work experience opportunities with an EmployAbility Host Employer. Brooklands College work with EmployAbility to support students with a learning disability looking to gain work experience through this programme.

Ashford and St.Peter’s Hospitals provide students the opportunity to work alongside departments within the hospital over a 6 month period and can involve up to 2 work experience opportunities.

This year has seen an excellent start for Brooklands Students with all 7 students stepping up to the challenge of experiencing work, made possible by the joint working with Gwen Atkins, Learning and Development Lead for Ashford and St.Peter’s Hospital, Brooklands College and Surrey Choices.
