We’re Celebrating Multiple Wins at the Surrey Care Awards
Customers of Surrey Choices attended RHS Gardens Wisley to have a fun filled day taking the orchard harvest and preparing it for apple pressing. Our customers used their cookery skills to chop the apples to start the juicing process. This was followed by using a mincing machine before putting them in the wooden apple press.
This worthwhile external activity, promoting the benefits of grow your own and sustainability, was enjoyed by several Surrey Choices Hubs as part of an inclusivity programme.
Surrey Choices have an ongoing partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society. In previous ventures, artists from Surrey Choices Hubs showed their creative side. Inspired by nature after visits to the gardens, customers created pictures, pottery and 3-D art to display in the Wisley Glasshouse Gallery in a public exhibition.
