Carinder’s Blog
I have worked with Surrey Choices for six years and during that time it has really helped me learn new skills and develop my digital understanding.
Throughout my six years I have had many different goals that I have achieved. My main interests involve technology. I like learning about photography, radio and in the last year using Zoom and taking part in Digital Choices sessions with my friends.
Surrey Choices has supported me to access different services so that I achieve my goals. For example, Choices Waves broadcasting station has supported me to develop my radio skills. I have developed and created a music show that you can listen to here. I have had one to one support with Surrey Choices colleagues to show me how to use Zoom and get on Digital Choices Live sessions, so I can continue to grow my skills.
The next goal I want to achieve is to get a paid job. The EmployAbility team is supporting me to reach this outcome. Their support involves getting me ready for a job by CV writing, applying for jobs and practising for interviews. Skills I have learnt in other areas of Surrey Choices will also help with my job hunt.
It is hard to say what I enjoy doing most at Surrey Choices, I have many different interests and enjoy doing lots of things. I do love making new friends and meeting new people.
