Employment support specialist, Carolyn Tucker is shortlisted after being recognised for helping people on the autistic spectrum to secure employment.
The National Learning Disabilities Awards celebrate the excellence of people with learning disabilities, recognising and paying tribute to those individuals or organisations who excel in providing excellent support and care.
As a Surrey Choices Employment Support Specialist, Carolyn supports people with a wide range of disabilities to overcome employment barriers and find employment opportunities across Surrey and beyond the county borders. Carolyn is a huge asset to our EmployAbility team, one of our dedicated services that helps to find work placements, training, volunteer opportunities and paid work with employers.
Carolyn has continued to work beyond the age of retirement and over the last six years she has supported over 65 people into paid jobs. She is hard working and dedicated, always putting the needs of others before her own. Carolyn was shortlisted by an independent panel of nine autism experts who judged each nomination on their innovation, creativity, impact and sustainability. The many individuals she has supported in to work have nothing but praise for Carolyn. Colleagues across Surrey Choices are delighted for Carolyn to have been shortlisted again this year! In 2018, Carolyn was shortlisted and won the Award for Most Inspirational Social Care Professional.
The awards ceremony will be held on Thursday 16 May 2019 in Birmingham.
