joined the Surrey Choices Supported Internship programme in September 2021 to gain work experience. He had some skills in video making so he took up work experience within a marketing team. On his first day he courageously made his own way by train to a town he had never visited, to meet people he did not know, and started filming. He fitted into the team, listening to instruction, and adapting to each project he was asked to do. From filming and editing videos to learning new skills, like adding captions for accessibility. He even did a voiceover, which he said he would never be able to do! He is now working at a video production company.
The judges were impressed by the journey this person has taken in such a short space of time and his commitment to always giving his best. Stepping out of his comfort zone he has shown bravery, flexibility and increasing levels of independence and confidence.
After finding out that he had won the award Anthony said:
“It was a big surprise. I feel very happy with my achievement”
