International Women’s Day 2023 – Embracing Equity
International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on the achievements of and celebrate women in the workplace. At Surrey Choices, we continue to strive for gender equality in the workplace, and aim to create an environment where women are encouraged to take on leadership roles and are given the same opportunities as their male counterparts. We value the unique perspectives and ideas that women bring to the table and celebrate their contributions.
This year’s theme is ‘Embracing Equity’, which encourages us to strive for a world where gender equity is not just a concept but a reality. This means actively working to eliminate any barriers or biases that may prevent women from achieving their full potential.
Supporting Women
Supporting women is not just something we want to talk about, it is something we want to know, value and embrace. That is why as well as celebrating the achievements of women in the workplace, we have schemes set in place to help support women and remove gender discrimination.
Our Pay Structures
The challenge across Great Britain is to eliminate any gender pay inequality: as an equal opportunities’ employer, Surrey Choices fully supports this initiative. At Surrey Choices, men and women who undertake the same, or equivalent, work are paid within identical pay structures.
Our Menopause Workplace Pledge
In signing the Menopause Workplace Pledge, Surrey Choices has committed to:
- Recognising that the menopause can be an issue in the workplace and that women may need support
- Talking openly, positively and respectfully about the menopause
- Actively supporting and informing employees affected directly or indirectly by the menopause
While we are pleased with the progress we have already made towards gender equity, we also recognise that there is still work to be done. Learn more about International Women’s Day here.
