How long have you worked for Surrey Choices?
It will be one year in October!
What attracted you to the role at Short Breaks Banstead?
Before this I worked as an Area Manager but had not worked in respite before. A friend mentioned Surrey Choices so I looked on the website and liked the ethos and what they stood for. I like a challenge and thought my skills would complement the job and thought the role looks interesting to meet lots of new people with different needs and decided to go for it.
What do you like best about the role?
I love all of the different people that come through the door. All of the different personalities and different needs keeps things interesting and I care about making a difference to their lives.
What do you do in your free time?
I like to travel and go to Spain whenever I can as my daughter lives there. My favourite place I have been is Bali and I am going back next year!
What is your proudest moment at Surrey Choices?
My proudest moment was how we transformed the sensory garden. We worked so hard and seeing it all come together and see how the people we support enjoyed it was really emotional and amazing to see.
What is at the top of your bucket list?
Overall I want to visit as many different countries as I can. My top places to visit are the Maldives or The Seychelles.
