Staff and customers at a Surrey Choices-run community group are celebrating after being given a Cranleigh in Bloom award.
The Cranleigh Community Group, which meets at Cranleigh Cricket Pavilion, provides support and activities for adults with a range of learning difficulties and disabilities.
Members of the group have been tending their own garden at the cricket pavilion for some time, improving the area by digging a shingle path and lining it with stones donated by Stonescapes, of Cranleigh.
Green-fingered group members have also laid decorative bark and created new garden ornaments out of old broken ones.
Surrey Choices employee, Patrick Allen, who works with the group, said: “It’s fantastic that we’ve picked up the award. The group enjoys working on the garden as it is very therapeutic. The area is looking fantastic and it’s brilliant that their effort and hard work has been recognised with the award – we’re all very proud.”
The group picked up their award at a presentation ceremony at Nottcutts Garden Centre, in Cranleigh, on Wednesday September 16.
