Ochre Print Studio is delighted to announce their forthcoming exhibition, Enchanting Tales, at Guildford’s Harvey Gallery, in conjunction with Surrey Choices. Artist members of Ochre Print Studio regularly work with the clients of Surrey Choices under the Ochre PrintAble label. The exhibition will show prints and other works produced by Surrey Choices’ artist-clients attending a range of sessions at their Lockwood Centre; including prints, textile works and jewellery.
Taking the lead in organising the exhibition is textile artist Jule Mallet, who regularly leads Ochre PrintAble sessions and has helped guide and inspire the prints on show. Jule said “We have some fantastic artists who come along to these Surrey Choices classes so it’s a real pleasure to see some of these works being hung and exhibited in a professional space. It will be hugely rewarding for the artists involved and will highlight the talent there is here. Enchanting Tales is a real celebration of the artists’ achievements.”
Director of Ochre Print Studio, Annee Robson, said “We are very excited to be mounting this exhibition of prints by Ochre PrintAble. They will be shown alongside textiles and jewellery created by two Surrey Choices groups who are also based at Lockwood. We are immensely proud of the work produced during our printmaking sessions and are delighted at the prospect of bringing them to the attention of a wider audience.”
The exhibition will be opened by the Mayor of Guildford, Councillor Gordon Jackson, accompanied with the Mayoress, Mrs Sue Jackson, at 2pm on Monday 6 March. A professional storyteller, James Munro, will be telling some enchanting tales at the Private View, expanding on the theme of the exhibition. Enchanting Tales opens to the public on Tuesday 7 March.
