Finding a new employment journey

When Callum joined EmployAbility with one previous volunteering position at British Heart Foundation. Callum felt he was ready to begin a new employment journey.

Callum has a passion for fixing appliances, namely washing machines. Employment Support Specialist, Hadden Farmer, had heard about the Woking Furniture Project from other colleagues and reached out to them so see if they had any work opportunities.

When the offer came up for Callum to join the team and test some machines, he was instantly excited. Callum settled quickly into his new job and thoroughly enjoyed his first task of testing a washing machine.

New Job Outcomes

Callum’s favourite part about his role is getting to work with his colleagues. He has made new friends as a result. He also enjoys meeting and greeting customers and loves the friendly environment. He is looking forward to learning and developing new skills, and would ultimately like to gain paid employment. For now, he is loving his new volunteering role.
