Friendship within Shared Lives
Chloe and Louise are both supported by our Shared Lives Scheme. One of their main goals was to form a friendship with someone their age so they could do things together within the community.
Chloe and Louise were similar in age and had similar interests, but lived with different Shared Lives Carers. Both Shared Lives Carers were friends and would regularly go out on a family dog walk and this is where the friendship started between Chloe and Louise. They began going out on more walks together and FaceTiming each other as their friendship grew.
Chloe and Louise are now living together within Shared Lives and are supported by Carers Sharon and Terry. They are able to spend more time together planning days out, holidays, girly nights in and makeovers. They even support each other to tidy their bedrooms.
Shared Lives Carers, Sharon and Terry said “Louise has found the sister she always wanted.”
Now Chloe and Louise live together, it has had a huge impact on their lives and confidence. They both set out to grow a friendship and they have gone one better and formed a sisterhood.
