Giving back to the community
Louise is a very sociable and friendly person. She is very active and is always keen to try new activities and challenges to develop her personal skills.
Over the last few months, Louise really wanted to become an active member of her community and do something to give back to her neighbours. With the support of her Shared Lives Carers, Louise began litter picking which has really helped with her sense of purpose and has boosted her wellbeing.
Alongside this, litter picking has given Louise a huge confidence boost to go about her day more independently and believe in what she can achieve. She meets twice a week with her neighbours to clean up their local area and this task makes her feel incredibly proud of her commitment and achievement. Her favourite part of the work is to spend time with her neighbours, forming new friendships and taking care of their local community together.
