Helping at the Hamptons
The Growth Team has just recently started a new project in Tongham, Seale at a beautiful location called Hampton Estates Farms.
The Hamptons Estate is 2260 acres of historic parkland, grazing meadows, arable fields and award winning woodlands and traditional farmyards.
The team work alongside the Estate workers and staff from the Department for Environmental Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). The team are currently clearing a large field of Hawthorn Saplings so the chalk soil and natural grasses will flourish.
They have learnt to use a tool called a tree popper to make the work easier and to get all of the root out. They all thoroughly enjoy attending and the hot lunch that is provided. The group work to a high standard and enjoy working with the farmer, the other estate workers and the staff from DEFRA.
