Justin takes on new challenges at Wheels for All
Justin wanted to be more active and see some friends he had not seen for a long time due to the pandemic.
After spending time talking about his goals and the things we wanted to do with colleagues, it was recognised that accessing his community on a regular basis to try new activities was really important to Justin. Having a routine is also a priority for Justin, because he likes to know what he is doing and where he is going. Colleagues supported Justin to look at new places he would like to visit and create a plan so he knows what he will be doing each day.
One of Justin’s main goals was to stay fit and active, so colleagues talked to Justin about Wheels for All. This is a community based cycling scheme with specially adapted bicycles. The activities are both physically and mentally stimulating and fun for everyone involved.
Justin was really interested in visiting Wheels for All, so he went along with colleague Caroline Phipps to have a look around at the venue. This trip really helped Justin to get familiar with where to go and what bike he might like to use on future visits.
“When Justin and I first went to Wheels for All, he really enjoyed seeing people he had not seen for a long time and was full of smiles. We plan to access this every week to help with keeping Justin active. It was just nice to see Justin look so happy.” Caroline Phipps, Activity Facilitator
