A Decade of Difference: Surrey Choices Celebrates 10 Years
Over the last 12 months Karen, a person we support, has been focusing on her health and wellbeing. This has seen her learn new skills to increase her independence. Karen has taken part in quizzes and gym sessions over Zoom, and she has participated in outdoor activities when it has been safe to do so. Here is what Karen told us:
“I have been keeping busy during lockdown. I sent my first email, took my first trip to Wheels for All, picked apples at Garden House for cider making and played cricket with Surrey County Cricket Club.
I have done lots of walking and keeping fit to keep my sugar levels down. I have been to the Lightbox to see my Art Work and the Raphael paintings.
We have been delivering leaflets for The Hive and me and other people from Mallow and Mencap have painted pebbles for the pebble trail at the park barn centre.
I have enjoyed seeing my friends when doing quizzes, and the gym on Zoom and getting quite good using my new tablet my friend bought me.
I would like to thank Surrey Choices staff for supporting me and stopping me from getting lonely and bored.“
