Learning from the world famous automotive manufacturer, McLaren
Some of the people supported by Employment Support Specialist, Rubens King, have a passion for fast cars, so he arranged a group to visit McLaren for them.
The group were met by the McLaren Aftersales Advisor, who gave them a tour of the showroom and workshop.
Together they chatted about a range of topics about the work behind the scenes at McLaren. They also discussed the iconic cars, such as the Lotus and Subaru, and what McLaren’s involvement with these are. The group asked many questions about work opportunities at McLaren, to help them understand what sort of roles were available within the workshop.
Those who attended now understand more about the automotive industry. Over the next few months, McLaren will be looking to continue tours to educate the next generation of car enthusiasts.
Everyone gave great feedback about the session. They enjoyed looking around the workshop and now know a lot more about the maintenance of high-end vehicles. One person said how he had been “looking forward to visit McLaren all week”. Another individual phoned Rubens afterwards to share “I had a great time and was grateful to Surrey Choices for providing me with the opportunity to learn more.”
