Liam enhances his skills

Liam is supported by our EmployAbility team and his goal is to earn a professional qualification to become an open water lifeguard.

He has always been keen to learn and persevere with any goal he wants to achieve. Liam is one of the longest standing members of his indoor lifeguarding role at the Spectrum Leisure Centre.

In recent weeks Liam completed his open water lifeguard assessment course and is now a qualified lifeguard outdoors. This has enabled Liam to undertake further shifts at the Guildford Lido in addition to his role at the Spectrum.

Earning this qualification has had a huge impact on Liam’s career, he is very proud of himself. It has been a real achievement to learn a different set of skills for the outdoor lifeguarding role. He has been given an opportunity to work at other leisure centres, which has allowed him to develop as an individual and a lifeguard.
