We’re Celebrating Multiple Wins at the Surrey Care Awards
Many of the individuals we support have been enjoying learning and playing golf for a number of years now, thanks to Community Golf.
Community Golf are a Surrey based organisation who take golf into the community. They engage with a variety of groups within communities, using golf as a way to bring local groups together in a healthy, active and friendly environment. The low impact intensity of golf means that it can be enjoyed by everyone, regardless of ability or previous experience.
Over the years many of our activity centres have been working with Community Golf to enable customers to learn the sport and play with other groups around Surrey. Learning and playing Golf provides the individuals we support with a great sense of achievement and personal development, as well as understanding the importance of working within a team and supporting one another.
On Friday 31 May, customers from our Woking Resource Centre were involved in a Golf tournament hosted by Community Golf. Playing alongside groups such as Post 19 and The Grange, everyone involved had a fantastic day competing and showing off their golf skills! Toby who goes to our Woking Resource Centre won the ‘Longest Drive’ Award and was thrilled with his trophy he got to take home.
