On Tuesday 25 June, students, employers, friends, families, Carers, EmployAbility and Surrey Choices enjoyed an afternoon of celebrations at Denbies Wine Estate, for the annual EmployAbility Making a Difference Awards. Amongst 16 of this years winners, was Nathan.
Nathan has been with the EmployAbility team for a short while now. He is a really enthusiastic worker and has shown a lot of dedication and progression in the few work placements he has had already. His confidence has increased over time and he has achieved many personal goals which is one of the many reasons why Nathan was nominated for a Making a Difference Award. Nathan’s Employment Support Specialist, Angie told us:
Nathan is a student at Ridgeway school Further Education, based at Farnham college. He has shown a great passion to work at all his Work Experience placements including the Woodlarks, Sue Ryder shop and The Clockhouse. Nathan is always willing to complete any task requested of him and completes this to a high standard, he is always keen to try and complete these as independently as possible.
Nathan is naturally a quiet person but has developed his interaction and team work skills throughout these placements, helping others and interacting with colleagues, which has been a pleasure to witness. Nathan’s improved self confidence and achievements whilst completing these supported work placements have been significant, created a more confident young man.
Well Done Nathan, and good luck in your future employment!
