A dementia-focused service that supports people with learning disabilities is hosting an open day later this month.
The Cottage Activity Centre, based in the heart of Ewell Village, organises a range of activities for its customers that are tailored to meet their needs in a dementia-friendly designed environment.
The service, which is run by social care provider Surrey Choices, supports customers and helps them to maintain their independence through a range of daily activities. The cottage has an adapted kitchen, a walled garden with sensory spaces, an art and activity room and a lounge as well as easy access to local parks, cafes, shops and Ewell library.
Shamim Kityo-Matovu, service co-ordinator at The Cottage, said: “We offer a range of activities both to individuals and groups depending on need. We’re always happy to meet new people who would like to find out more about our facilities at The Cottage. We’d also like to hear from community groups that might like to get involved with our facility. It may be that a local group would like to deliver activities and events for our customers. If so, we’d really like to meet them.”
The open day will take place at The Cottage in Spring Street, Ewell, on Wednesday, May 31, from 11am to 2pm. For more information call 01483 806806, email info@surreychoices.com
