Services for Young People
As Surrey Choices has grown and evolved over the years, so to have our services and support for younger people in and around the county.
We have numerous programmes that support young people in different ways such as Employment pathways, Travel Choices, Flexi-Choices, and many more. Surrey Choices vision is to support children and young adults to be happy, healthy, safe and confident in their future.
PREP (Personalised, Resilience and Engagement Programme)
PREP is a personalised, reduced hours programme that addresses barriers to engagement with education, work and everyday life. The aim is to promote community inclusion to improve young people’s health and wellbeing and facilitate your journey back into education or employment. Week by week we help you to build resilience skills, re-engage with the world and become an active citizen. Once you have built your confidence you can move onto the Future Choices or Supported Internship programmes run by Surrey Choices.
Future Choices
Future Choices is designed to be a solid foundation for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) as they transition from education to work and independent living.
This programme is designed to prepare you for adulthood and particularly to get you ready for work. You will have your own 5 day a week personalised timetable with an Employment Support Specialist to guide you through steps to improve your work skills, confidence, health and wellbeing.
Supported Internships

Growth Team
The Growth Team are a group of supported volunteers and recent award winners of the 2022 BBC Radio Surrey Environment awards. They are part of Surrey Choices vocational projects, enabling people to contribute, reach their potential and become active citizens in their local community.
The Growth Teams work across Surrey with local businesses, community groups and residents. They help maintain the Surrey countryside and public spaces including managing local community areas across the county. Our teams also help improve these sites for wildlife by planting hedgerows, building and erecting bird and bat boxes and plants for reptiles and amphibians.
Flexi-Choices
Flexi-Choices provides fun activities during evenings and weekends. Designed to provide flexible breaks for parents and Carers, this service is available on referral and is open to people with direct payments or private funders. We will look at the person’s needs, wishes and goals and provide activities in the community or in one of our fully accessible buildings.
Travel Choices
Travel Choices will support you to gain independence to travel to school or college. Surrey Choices will work with you, and your family or Carers to create a Personal Travel Plan to support you to travel independently by public transport, walking or cycling.
Travel Choices is for anyone who receives transport assistance from Surrey County Council to get to school or college. Independent travel is a valuable life skill for your future social and work life, but also supports the wider agenda of sustainable transport to help our environment.
