Rest and Recuperation
Ella first joined Shared Lives in June 2022 when she stayed with a family for an emergency short break. Ella had been living independently in her own home but had been in hospital and needed somewhere to stay for a short period while she recovered. Unfortunately, there were some complications with Ella’s health and she had to return to hospital until August.
In August, Ella was able to go home, but she asked if should could move back in with her Shared Lives home to help her prepare for living independently again in the future. Ella moved and settled in well with the family. Ella enjoyed staying at the home until she had regained her independence. After a very successful placement, Ella has now moved out back into her own home to live independently again.
Ella shared some thoughts on her experience with Shared Lives:
“The family were very good to me and I am so thankful to them for letting me stay. They supported me when I was not well and helped me recuperate. I was feeling a bit anxious about leaving, but they reassured me that I was going to be ok and that we will keep in touch.”
Keep going Ella!
