A group from Woking Resource Centre recently visited Barnsbury School to talk to a group of Year 3 students about disabilities for their citizenship week
The members of the group took turns speaking about their individual disability, including explaining what it is and how it affects them.
They covered a range of disabilities and spoke about integrating with the community and how important this is. The group played ‘Thumbs Up, thumbs Down’ with the students to see how they felt about disabilities and gave them a chance to ask a question
At the end, the group asked the students if they would be nervous is someone with a disability came up to them. Everyone agreed they wouldn’t mind, and one of the students replied ‘No, everyone is different and that’s good.’
