Mums are Superheroes! and because of this, Stripey Stork are running their 9th Mother’s Day Campaign.

Who are Stripey Stork

Stripey Stork is a Surrey-based baby bank, collecting donations of clothes, toys and essential items for babies and children. Edward, a person we support on our Future Choices programme, has been volunteering each week since last autumn. He always talks about his colleagues with such positivity and happiness as he loves attending their warehouse.

Making a difference in his community

Edward noticed Stripey Stork were doing a collection for Mother’s Day and thought it was something he could help with. So, with the support of his mother, Employment Support Specialist, and neighbours, Edward managed to fill up a number of bags with gifts. Aside from receiving lots of wonderful donations, it afforded Edward some unexpected feedback from two ladies who live on his road. One woman was very complimentary about Edward’s passion to help. Another lady commended him on his positive attitude in wanting to help this charity and his local community. Stripey Stork aim to deliver a pamper bag and hand-written card to 600 Mums to open on Mother’s Day.

Feeling proud of his achievements

Edward feels very proud of the small part he can play within this bigger campaign knowing how worthy a cause this is. “I have managed to get lots of lovely toiletries which I hope will make a lot of mums happy and know people care about them”.
