Talented Surrey Choices customers teamed up with local junior school to put on a show-stopping performance.
Rhythmic Collision, the Surrey Choices dance group, has teamed up with Cordwalles Junior School in Camberley to hold dance workshops for customers and pupils helping to build friendships and break down barriers.
Rhythmic Collision Dance Company, which was formed in 2000, has 14 members aged between 22-51, who are all incredibly passionate about dancing.
Since 2015, the dance company has worked extremely hard with Cordwalles Junior School, working towards an end of year performance at a local theatre. The performance, which recently took place at Camberley theatre, gave customers, families, pupils and staff the opportunity to see the wonderful talent of the combined group. Shortly afterwards Rhythmic Collision were invited into a special leavers assembly at the junior school showing the developing relationships between Rhythmic Collision and the pupils of Cordwalles Junior School
Helen-Louise Lampard from Surrey Choices, said: “The workshops with the school have been a real success, and both our customers and the pupils have gained a lot from the journey. At first the children were nervous around our customers, but their confidence has grown tremendously and they have formed a great relationship.
The performance at Camberley Theatre was outstanding. Our customers and Cordwalles pupils were fantastic, and we had a great turnout on the night. We look forward to working together with Cordwalles Junior School in the future”.
