Surrey Choices renews Disability Confident Leader status
Surrey Choices named winner of Employer of People with a Disability Award 2021
We are thrilled to have won The Employer of People with a Disability Award at The National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2021.
These prestigious awards are organised by Care Talk Magazine and celebrate excellence across the care sector. Having impressed the shortlisting panel and been interviewed by the judges, we beat strong competition in this category.
As a Disability Confident Employer, we are committed to recruiting, retaining, and developing disabled people in our workforce. Did you know that nearly one fifth of our workforce identify as having a disability?
Christina Earl, our Head of Business Development and Innovation collected the award from celebrity presenter, Rev Kate Botley, at the Gala Awards Ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham.
Surrey Choices was also a finalist in two other categories: The Positive Behaviour Support Team and The Breaking Down Barriers Individual Award for Dexter James.
The other surprise of the evening was to see members of Rhythmic Collision dancing in the music video that was shown to kick off the award ceremony.
