A Decade of Difference: Surrey Choices Celebrates 10 Years
Surrey Choices worked collaboratively with our Surrey County Council colleagues to provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to our Surrey wide social care colleagues, in their greatest time of need through the Coronavirus Pandemic.
We supported the community effort by:
- Establishing 4 PPE Hubs across the county at our Activity Centres. Enabling our social care colleagues to order and collect their PPE locally.
- Building 1 electronic PPE Portal from scratch so care providers could register their PPE requirements and book slots to collect their supplies
- Used a fleet of 6 Surrey Choices buses and put together a team of drivers who made 15 trips across the county to transport supplies of PPE to our PPE Hubs
- Mobilised an army of 12 staff to make this project happen
- Supplied PPE to 150 Surrey social care organisations to support them through the pandemic
Supplied a total of 341,655 items of PPE including:
3500 Masks
300,000 Individual aprons
3500 Pairs of gloves
2000 Hand Sanitisers
600 Goggles
12,000 Individual Face Shields
20,000 Pairs of shoe coverings
5 Biohazard body clean up kits
70 Packs of biohazard wipes
130 Individual coveralls
1650 Clinical Waste bags
