We are thrilled that our Growth Team were shortlisted for the Surrey Care Awards 2017.
Now in their ninth year, the Surrey Care Awards are the county’s ‘Oscars’ for those who work in the care sector. Organised by Surrey Care Association, these awards recognise the dedication of people working in a wide variety of jobs in adult social care including dementia care, caring for people in their own homes and caring for adults with learning disabilities.
Our Growth Team, which currently has 24 members, teaches and supports people with a range of disabilities. They were shortlisted for the ‘Most Innovative Activity Programme involving Service Users Award (team award)’.
The Growth Team’s work sees them carrying out practical tasks, helping to maintain the Surrey countryside and its public spaces. Some of the other projects they are involved in are working on private gardens, countryside management, maintaining private estates and looking after nature reserves
Jessica Williams, Marketing and Communications Manager, said: “We had a great evening on Friday, reaching the finals is a fantastic achievement and each member of the team should be very proud of themselves.
“The last couple of years have been very busy for the Growth Team and it has been an amazing experience for everyone.
“The team has proved to be a great success and have opened up so many possibilities for our customers. We’re immensely proud of everything that has been achieved and we’re looking forward to what the future holds for the team.”
