Virtual Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day will still be full of love for both Suzanne and her boyfriend Barry. During the last couple of weeks, Suzanne has been working hard preparing for this special day which came out as a result of speaking with her friends about how she could celebrate Valentine’s Day virtually.
Suzanne decided in collaboration with her friends Elizabeth, Betty and Clare, that they would like to make presents for their loved ones.
During one of her sessions with Patrick Allen, Activity Facilitator, Suzanne spoke of her idea and together they made a plan of how she wanted the box to look and Suzanne began making it. She put the box together, then carefully held it from the inside to paint, so that the box did not get smudged in any way. As she was painting on the second coat she told Patrick what this gift means to her: “I am going to do this for Barry as he is special to me, and he deserves all I can give him.”
When she had completed the box, Suzanne was beaming with a smile on her face. She next decided on things to fill the box with, and so she went out and bought goodies like heart shaped chocolates and tied it up with a ribbon to make it look really special.
