We’re delighted to announce that Surrey Choices has won multiple awards at this year’s Surrey Care Awards, solidifying our position as a leading provider of social care services in Surrey.
We were shortlisted for several awards and proudly won three:
- Care Worker of the Year: Supported Living/Day & Community Services – Cheryl Knight, Travel Choices Manager
- Care Worker of the Year: Home-based Care – Sheila and David Wallond, Shared Lives Carers
- Excellence in Workforce Innovation – Surrey Choices, in partnership with other Surrey-based providers
Held on 8th November, the Surrey Care Awards celebrated excellence in care across Surrey. Hosted by comedian Judi Love, the event featured a lively drinks reception, captivating magic performances, and a delicious three-course meal.
The awards ceremony recognised exceptional achievements in care. We’re honoured to be part of this inspiring evening that highlights the dedication and passion of those working in care.
Christina Earl, our Head of Innovation and Business Development, said:
“We’re incredibly proud of Cheryl Knight, Sheila and David Wallond, and our entire team. Their commitment to delivering exceptional, person-centred care has been rightly recognised. These awards are a testament to the dedication and passion that our team brings to social care.
“The Surrey Care Awards highlight the tireless work of those who support individuals in our community. We’re honoured to be part of this legacy and will continue to innovate and raise the bar in care across Surrey.”
Cheryl Knight, our Travel Choices Manager, won the Care Worker of the Year award for Supported Living and Day/Community Services. Her nomination recognised her significant contribution to the lives of young people and their families. Her hands-on approach to training disabled people to travel independently, combined with her collaborative work with families, schools and other professionals has made a lasting impact.
Sheila and David Wallond, our Shared Lives Carers, won the Care Worker of the Year award for Home-based Care. They provide exceptional, person-centred support to individuals with additional needs. Their dedication to delivering high-quality care, both in long-term arrangements and respite care, has been invaluable to the people they support and their families.
We, in partnership with other Surrey-based providers, won the Excellence in Workforce Innovation Award for our work on the Care Talent Collective. This initiative aims to address the recruitment challenges in the care sector by attracting new talent and training individuals with lived experience of disabilities or neurodivergence to become specialist trainers.
Thank you to everyone at Surrey Choices for their continued dedication and hard work. Here’s to securing some wins next year too!
