Working in Partnership To Increase Independence
Logan is supported by Shared Lives. It was identified that she would benefit from going to FlexiChoices on the evenings and weekends, as she wanted to increase her independence and meet new people.
Colleagues from FlexiChoices, Shared Lives, and her Shared Lives Carers got in touch to plan with Logan what type of activities she would like to do at FlexiChoices.
Together, they found that Logan wanted to improve her life skills and become more organised with day to day tasks. Her Shared Lives Carers and colleagues have been working together with Logan on various tasks that have included making healthy snacks and lunches, using kitchen appliances to safely heat her meals up and make drinks.
Since attending FlexiChoices, Logan is also able to independently walk to Fernleigh and visit local places by herself. Logan’s confidence has massively grown, and she feels a sense of pride in her independence, the new life skills she has been learning recently and how much she has achieved through her own determination.
