A Decade of Difference: Surrey Choices Celebrates 10 Years

When Barclays Digital Eagles approached Surrey Choices to sign up to one of their online services we jumped at the chance. It is important that the people we support are able to hear from professionals about keeping safe online.
Barclays Digital Eagles
Barclays Digital Eagles aim to support everyone to get the most out of their digital experience. They do this through online sessions that include a number of informational videos. Our Surrey Choices group also participated in two live sessions on digital fraud and money mentoring.
Impact on the people Surrey Choices
These sessions have had a huge impact on the people Surrey Choices support. They highlighted how people can protect themselves from online scams and how to keep personal information safe when they are online. Their service also explained the importance of watching your finances and having a personal budget to work from.
Benefits
Edward – “It was useful to revisit. Budgeting – you have wants and needs, such as rent and bills that need paying for first, and then you can see how much you have left for things like DVDs.”
Katie – “what I learned and found out about during the Barclays Digital Eagle sessions was really interesting. I learnt about being safe and careful online, not falling into scams and keeping my money safe.”
Robert – “I really enjoyed the Barclays Banking Safety Zoom session. I found that it taught me a lot of important things that I needed to know about banking and account safety. I definitely would recommend the session, and the lady who ran it was very thorough. She also went through the importance of having complex, but memorable passwords, to improve your accounts security.”
