Title:   Learning and Development Assistant
Reports to: Learning and Development Partner
Accountable to: HR and Organisational Development Manager
Location: Hybrid of Home Working and Fernleigh Day Centre – Walton on Thames, KT12 1RD, with some travel to hubs across the County
Hours:                   Full time: 37.5 hours per week

Job Purpose

The Learning and Development Assistant role is to support the Learning and Development Partner in delivering a quality learning and development service to the business. The Assistant will strive to continuously improve the L&D service and promote Surrey Choices core values in all tasks undertaken. The role will uphold the Surrey Choices Customer Care Commitment:

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a central training email account
  • Responding to all communication in a professional and timely manner
  • Updating systems with workforce changes
  • Support HR initiatives and projects
  • Manage the data held on our L&D databases
  • Coordinating meetings including working groups and minute taking
  • Support and advise managers on training matters including compliance levels
  • Running reports and preparing data in Microsoft Office
  • Working collaboratively with the HR Assistant
  • Management of training files on One Drive
  • Identifying and booking training venues
  • Processing invoices in a timely manager, in collaboration with the finance team
  • Sending confirmation of training to relevant providers
  • Supporting the Learning and Development Partner to deliver or facilitate training
  • Manage the administration of attendance schedules
  • Supporting the Learning and Development Partner in operating within the training budget
  • Any other duties appropriate to the post as required by the manager to support the HR service

Professional Experience in care sector
Aspirational Business acumen
Customer service orientated Experience working in a Learning and Development Administration/Assistant role
Proactive and uses initiative
Team player but can also work independently
Strong communication skills
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
Polite, helpful and professional telephone manner
Ability to travel to other hubs across Surrey when necessary
Conscientious
Strong attention to details
Can demonstrate administration experience
An understanding of the impact of Learning and Development
