Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

At Surrey Choices we believe in treating everyone with fairness and respect. Even though we are not required by law to publish a statement under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015, we want to make it clear that we are committed to ethical business practices and to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking. This is part of our responsibility to the people we support, our staff, and our communities.

  1. Organisation, business, and supply chains
We provide support services for young people and adults with additional needs, operating mainly within the UK. Our supply chain is relatively small and consists primarily of trusted UK-based suppliers and service providers. However, we also work with a limited number of suppliers based outside the UK, and we expect all our suppliers—regardless of location—to uphold the same high standards of ethics, transparency, and human rights.
  2. Policies on slavery and human trafficking
We take a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery. While we do not have a separate policy, our moral standards, and the way we buy goods and services always reflects our commitment to fair work and respect for people’s rights.
  3. How we check our suppliers
We work with suppliers we know follow UK labour laws and have high ethical standards. Where it is needed, we ask them to share their own policies or statements about modern slavery.
  4. Assessing risks
Because of the type of work we do and the suppliers we use, the risk of modern slavery is low. However, we stay always alert and would act straight away if any concerns were found.
  5. Measuring progress
We review supplier relationships and listen to staff feedback to ensure ethical practices are always in place. To date, no incidents of modern slavery have been reported.
  6. Training and awareness
Staff are made aware of the importance of ethical conduct and how to raise concerns. As our organisation grows, we will consider increasing training as needed.
