Surrey Choices Celebrates ‘Excellent’ Rating and Award Win
We’re thrilled to announce that Surrey Choices has been named “Large Supported Employment Team of the Year” by the British Association for Supported Employment (BASE) and received an ‘Excellent’ rating in BASE’s quality framework.
We help over 750 disabled and neurodivergent adults and young people in Surrey find and keep fulfilling jobs and volunteer roles. Our commitment to supporting individuals has led to impressive results: 11.8% of adults with learning disabilities in Surrey are in paid employment, significantly higher than the national average of 4.8%.
Following a comprehensive assessment, BASE recognised our dedication to providing high-quality support. Our jobseekers benefit from personalised guidance, including training courses, job clubs, CV writing, and one-to-one support. We’re proud to secure competitive jobs with excellent benefits for our clients. Our expert teams work closely with employers to provide additional support as needed.
We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to work and our EmployAbility team embodies this belief. Our latest award is a testament to our collective efforts to empower individuals and create positive change.
Louise Hayes, our Senior Operations Manager, shared her excitement:
“We are incredibly proud to receive an ‘Excellent’ rating from BASE. This recognition is a reflection of our team’s hard work and the strong partnerships we’ve built with local employers.
“At Surrey Choices, we are committed to supporting each jobseeker’s journey to independence by providing personalised guidance, practical skills, and the encouragement to grow both professionally and socially. It’s incredibly rewarding to see our jobseekers not only secure fulfilling roles but also develop friendships and confidence along the way. We look forward to continuing this impactful work and helping more people lead enriched, independent lives.”
Laura Davis, CEO of BASE and Inclusive Trading CIC, added:
“We were honoured to present the award to the Surrey Choices EmployAbility team. Their continued innovation, personalised approaches, and zero-rejection philosophy make them truly deserving of this recognition. We congratulate the entire team on their well-deserved award as they continue to deliver ‘Excellent’-rated services to the residents of Surrey, aligning with our shared mission of ensuring careers are accessible to all.”
