We provide a range of supported volunteering projects that help disabled and neurodivergent people to develop their vocational skills and to get work ready. Discovering a wide range of vocational skills will help to prepare them for the world of work.
We offer skills building through a range of different projects including:
- Horticultural work with our Growth Team
- Media and broadcasting such as creating podcasts and music shows through Choices Waves
- Learning gardening, catering and IT skills
- Supported volunteering in local cafes, charity shops and the library
- A range of initiatives to support the local community. This includes a community fridge and creating hospital emergency kits.
Learning Valuable Skills
You will learn skills that will be valuable when starting employment, from timekeeping to people skills. These are also a fantastic way of increasing confidence. There are a variety of vocational projects which take place around Surrey, take a look at the options below.
How do we help people to get ready for work?
- We will help you to get into your chosen vocational project, which will develop your skills before you enter employment or start volunteering.
- You will benefit from an increase in confidence by learning new work-life skills and meeting new people.
- Vocational projects are a perfect stepping stone for those looking for long-term employment or volunteering opportunities.
Young people will also be able to join one of our employment programmes such as Supported Internships so they are fully prepared for the structure and expectations in the workplace.
We work in partnership with local businesses and communities to create meaningful vocational learning and work experiences.
