Our Local Charity of the Year

Since 2017 Surrey Choices has selected a Local Charity of the Year to partner with and fundraise for. By working in partnership with a local charity we can make a really big difference to a cause at the heart of our local community. Local charities rely on donations to ensure they can continue to offer vital support. Every penny helps them to make a difference!

We want to make as big and positive an impact as possible in our local communities by awareness-raising and fundraising.

Our Local Charity of the Year is chosen by our staff, customers, families, Carers and friends. We work together each year to spread the word about what the local charity does and why it is important to raise vital funds for them. We hold and take part in fundraising events and work together to raise money.

We are honoured to announce that Surrey Wildlife Trust will be our Charity of the Year until April 2025.

During this two-year partnership, we hope that this partnership will inspire our staff and customers to enjoy nature and to learn how to protect and support Surrey’s wildlife. Surrey Wildlife Trust will provide a range of wildlife-friendly ways for them to manage their various sites across the county. So that staff and customers at Surrey Choices can monitor their impact, we will be able to use their online survey to map our activity. We will also be helping to raise important funds for our conservation work through raffles, skills auctions and sweepstakes.

This partnership will make a significant contribution towards our aim to restore 30% of Surrey’s land to nature by 2030, and it will support their mission to inspire at least one in every four people in the community to take action for nature.

Throughout the pandemic we have continued our corporate social responsibility and from January 2020 – March 2021 we supported Woking Mind. April 2021 – March 2022 we supported Surrey Disabled People’s Partnership and last year we supported Action for Carers Surrey.
