People across Guildford are invited to take a step back in time at a 1940s themed event.

Surrey Choices is teaming up with Guildford Borough Council and Nicola Bassani from the Diocese of Guildford to host a special tea and memories event for the local community.

The 1940s themed event, which will be held at Burchatts Farm, is open to anyone over 60 living in Guildford and the surrounding areas.

Customers Come on Leaps and Bounds with Rebound Therapy

Customers from Surrey Choices demonstrate the skills they have learnt from Rebound Therapy at a presentation day.

Surrey Choices introduced Rebound Therapy sessions in September 2015, and it has proved to be extremely beneficial to customers.

Rebound Therapy is the use of trampolines to provide therapeutic exercise and recreation for people with a wide range of support needs. As well as providing a variety of health and fitness benefits, Rebound Therapy also helps to build confidence and develop communication skills, whilst in a fun and sociable environment.

Surrey Choices dancers set to take centre stage at national event

A dance group with a difference from Surrey is preparing to take centre stage at a national event being hosted by the Mayor of London to showcase inclusive sports and disability arts.

Surrey Choices Rhythmic Collision Dance Company, which comprises of 14 dancers with learning and physical disabilities, will perform at the opening of the National Paralympic Day and Liberty Festival.

The festival, which takes place on September 3, at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, just four days before the Rio 2016 Paralympics, is a family-friendly free event showcasing inclusive sports and arts.
