A series of Paralympic style sporting fun days have been held across Surrey to mark the 2nd birthday of an organisation who supports hundreds of people every day.
The birthday celebrations kicked off on Wednesday 14 September at Fernleigh Hub in Walton-on-Thames.
Inspired by the Rio Paralympics, events on the day included seated hockey, football, boccia and shooting. After a busy afternoon, customers enjoyed a BBQ and a presentation ceremony for those who took part.
Customers and staff continued the celebrations last week, and came together at Surrey Choices’ Colebrook service in Redhill, and its Lockwood service in Guildford.
Surrey Choices got into the Paralympic spirit last month when its dance group, Rhythmic Collision, performed at the opening of the National Paralympic Day and Liberty festival in London.
Martin Farrow, Managing Director said “It has been a real delight to be celebrate our 2nd birthday with our customers and staff at fun days across the county. As an organisation, our vision is to inspire people of all abilities to fulfil their potential and reach their goals, and what better way to do this by hosting inclusive Paralympic-inspired activities.”
