Colleague Spotlight: Christina Nicholson

Our Colleague Spotlight feature is on Christina Nicholson who is one of our Team Managers at Surrey Choices. Read her interview below to learn about her career progression with Surrey Choices and the most important parts of her role.

How long have you worked at Surrey Choices?

I started at The Knowle (Community Hub) in 2019 as a Community Support Worker (but at the time it was called Activity Facilitator). Over the years, I developed skills that supported me to progress through my career and I was fortunate enough to gain a promotion in July 2022 as a Senior Community Support Worker at Fernleigh. Recently, I was fortunate enough to obtain the Team Manager position at The Knowle

What are you looking forward to in your new role as Team Manager?

I am hoping to improve the service and promote more positive attitudes towards our ways of working. I am also looking forward to our move to Thameside.

What is the most important part of your job?

I feel very strongly and passionately about building a unique connection with the individuals we support. It is important to me that I can provide a service which promotes a good quality of life and empowers them to become more independent.
