Funding helps Matt replace his stolen chair
Matt had his wheelchair stolen from outside his home in February and the police never found who took it. Unfortunately it was not insured and was a huge financial loss. More devastatingly, it meant that Matt was stuck inside as he cannot get far without his chair, he was house bound for many months.
When his Employment Support Specialist found out about the situation, they put a bid in to the Surrey Supported Employment Fund (SSEF). This fund is run by Community Foundation for Surrey and supports people with disabilities to overcome barriers to finding work.
The fund was granted which enabled Matt to buy a replacement chair. The team also supported him to get insurance and a tracker. Matt is very grateful and thanks Surrey Choices for helping him get his freedom back.
