We’re Celebrating Multiple Wins at the Surrey Care Awards
Our first Surrey Choices Speed Dating evening in Staines was not only about romance but meeting new people, broadening social lives outside the usual day opportunities and just plain old fun!
The positive aspects of this event focused on the great prospects of making a positive impact for our customers. The aim to support our customers and other people with a variety of support needs to develop friendships and relationships is a very important goal. By achieving this it can help combat isolation and loneliness and improve health and well being.
Charlotte Cheeseman, Day Service Officer at our Fairways Day Service, Staines said “We are all aware once the day at our services ends, our customers can often feel excluded from fulfilling social lives within their own communities.
Our evening events not only tackle the negative impact of these feelings can have on both their mental and physical health, but by having all our day services come together at these events we can give them the opportunity to not only maintain important friendships, but also the confidence to meet new people and build lasting positive friendships
We would like to thank the Staines branch of Baroosh for setting the atmosphere for a fantastic evening. We would like to also acknowledge their ongoing work as a business in supporting adults with a range of needs in our communities. They also employ a customer of Surrey Choices and have been encouraging them throughout their career.
Fairways Day Service also have a number of friendship groups that enjoy Baroosh for meals and social evenings and have always been made to feel welcome.
