Celebrating our 10th anniversary! (Press release)
Douglas (Dougie) has been supported by a range of our services, and recently celebrated his retirement following 15 years of service with the Royal Holloway University, working in The Hub as a Food Services Assistant.
Dougie’s story started when he began working at Tesco as a Trolley Porter. He was there for seven years and wanted a change. He then joined the Royal Holloway University and never looked back.
Through job coaching and travel training, Dougie quickly became an independent employee of the University and his confidence rocketed.
The Hub Manager always sang his praises, saying Dougie was always “reliable, loyal, on time and hard working.”
In July, Dougie and his team at The Hub celebrated his retirement with a gathering alongside his Employment Support Specialist Margaret Friend and Dougie’s good friend Maggie Jackson.
Dougie’s Manager said he would be really missed as a team member; his laughter and friendship.
Dougie assured her that he will be back to visit and have a coffee and bacon roll!
