As many of you are already aware, our previous Managing Director, Mette, left us at the end of May to pursue new opportunities. We all want to thank Mette for her outstanding service to Surrey Choices and the people we support and their families. She has left a significant legacy, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
As we embark on the search for a permanent Managing Director, we recognise the importance of maintaining continuity and ensuring seamless support is provided. After careful consideration and a joint interview process involving the Surrey County Council Executive Director of Adult Social Care and Surrey Choices board colleagues, we are thrilled to announce that Martin Farrow will be joining us at the start of July to lead our organisation during this interim period.
For those familiar with Surrey Choices, you may remember Martin from his previous tenure with us, where his expertise in overseeing Local Authority Trading Companies saw him support Surrey Choices through its previous transition of Managing Director. Martin brings with him extensive experience in the field of health and social care, spanning over 30 years. During that time, he has held Board and CEO positions across the health and care sector, and specifically within Local Authority Trading Companies. His experience and dedication make him the ideal candidate to lead our organisation during this interim period. We are delighted to have secured his services and are confident in his ability to provide the support and guidance needed to continue our vital work.
While the search for a permanent Managing Director is underway, we are committed to implementing a comprehensive and rigorous process to ensure we find the best candidate to lead Surrey Choices into the future. We will keep you informed throughout this process, and we remain dedicated to transparency and inclusivity.
