Gaining volunteering opportunities
Luke, Colin and Oliver from The Growth all want to gain volunteering opportunities and paid work. A job came up for some Saturday work within The Growth Team, which was something new to the team. The three of them were excited for a new challenge.
They had to change their routines, learn to travel to Cranstock Community Hub independently and assist with preparing the minibus and tools needed for the day. The job involved planting hundreds of hedgerow trees with other volunteers in the community they had not met before. The outcome was amazing. They chatted with the other volunteers, planted hundreds of trees and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
The feedback from the farmer they were working for was overwhelmingly positive. “It was wonderful to see so many parts of the community working together. Luke, Colin and Oliver should be very pleased and proud of their hard work.”
