How long have you been working with Surrey Choices?
I joined the Choices Waves Team in February 2022.
What attracted you to the job?
The opportunity to help people learn skills and express themselves.
What projects have you been working on?
Mostly the brand new Surrey Choices podcast, Surrey Voices. In the podcast shows we cover various topics around disability and mental health, featuring lots of guest appearances. It can be found here and most podcast apps if you search for ‘Surrey Voices’.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I work from home, I meet the people I am supporting online. We make radio shows, edit audio, conduct and arrange interviews for the podcast and more editing!
What is your favourite thing about your role?
The ability to be creative in collaboration with colleagues and the people we support.
What is something you want to achieve this year?
To make a great customer Newsletter with the Quality Communications Group. First edition almost done!
What is one piece of advice you would give to your younger self?
Do not study what you love, you will learn that anyway.
What is your proudest moment to date?
Launching Surrey Voices and telling the story of The Growth Team on episode one.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I like going for long walks.
What is on the top of your bucket list?
I would love to climb Mount Kilimanjaro!
