Making friends in the community
A group of individuals at our Nexus hub were keen to get out in to the community, to meet new people and take part in activities together. With the help of Community Support Worker, Claire Sargeant, they did some research and found a local social group they wanted to visit.
They contacted the relevant person and were given details about the next meet up. Their first visit was a great success. They were warmly welcomed and got chatting with different people from around the area.
The second week they went back, the volunteers of the social group had cakes for them, started to teach them new games and offered ideas on what else they could do in their community. It has been a real hit for everyone who goes and the highlight of their week.
