Wellbeing throughout lockdown
Jonathan is supported by Surrey Choices and has been focusing on his wellbeing throughout lockdown by taking up old hobbies that he finds interesting.
Jonathan used to do a lot of painting, jigsaw puzzles and diamond painting which is a mix between Paint By Numbers and Cross Stitch. He has also been asked to paint things for other people.
Lockdown gave Jonathan a chance to restart his love of painting. He has worked on numerous pieces of artwork of animals, such as peacocks, eagles and lions as well as vintage cars. Jonathan said that “painting kept me busy and it’s nice to have people comment positively on my work. I like to share my work with others.”
Our EmployAbility team support Jonathan, and whilst painting can have a positive impact on your wellbeing it can also develop your skills. Painting has a number of benefits such as; visual learning, improving concentration and creativity. All of which can be helpful when you are looking to improve your skills to find employment.
